150th anniversary of the death of St. Mary Euphrasia
On this anniversary of the death of St. Mary Euphrasia 150 years ago, a Eucharist presided by Fr. Quris, responsible for the religious in the diocese of Angers, and concelebrated by Fr. Malek, leader of the Maronite parish, took place in the chapel of the Motherhouse
It was a festive and at the same time a simple Eucharist. Our Congregational leader, Sr. Ellen Kelly, sisters of the different communities of Angers and some friends were present.
The solemnity had taken place on April 22nd with more than 160 people.
The choir made up of Sisters and lay people, sang hymns in French, English and Spanish which contributed to make this a prayerful Eucharist.
During the offertory procession, the choir sang St. Mary Euphrasia’s aspirations in English while Sr. Ellen Kelly carried the statue of a shepherdess, symbolizing her role as leader of the Congregation since 3 years and Sr. Armelle Dehennault, leader of the Motherhouse Community, carried a lamp, symbolizing the International Community, the Congregational Spirituality Centre, the Good Shepherd Museum and the Guesthouse.
This Eucharist ended with a final song in honor of St. Mary Euphrasia: “Strength an beauty” in a very fraternal atmosphere.
