Sister Mary Salomi Cruz was appointed Province Leader of the Province of Singapore-Malaysia on 3 December 2019. The Province Chapter was held from 28 November to 3 December 2019 in Singapore. Her mandate will begin on 24 April 2020.
Born in Port Klang, Selangor, Malaysia on 27 February 1959, she entered the Congregation in 1983 and made her Perpetual Profession on 21 February 1993.
Salomi is currently doing a Bachelor Degree programme in Psychology in Singapore. Her training includes Early Childhood Education, Psychology/Counseling, Satir Systematic Brief Therapy, Spiritual Direction and Formation. She did her Theological Studies in the Philippines.
In the area of ministry, Salomi has served in various capacities in the Social Service programmes in Malaysia working with teenage girls and their families, single mothers, women experiencing spousal violence, refugee and migrant women and their children. She was also involved in formation of those at the candidacy and pre-novitiate level.
Salomi’s leadership responsibilities include: being a member of the Social and Education Boards in Malaysia, Local Leader of Community and a member of the Province Leadership Team from 2008 to 2016. She also served in local, regional, and international committees in the area of Formation.
